Sister Spirit, Go Girl by Thalia Kalkipsakis

Last night I read  the rest of Sister Spirit and you might like to read it as well?

Where is it set
The book is set in Australia (based on the author, Thalia Kalkipsakis, being an Australian).

The Author
She lived in a bushy place growing up which was a great place for escaping and exploring. She lives with 2 daughters and a big black cat called Bindi. She still doesn't know why time travellers haven't said "hi"yet.

Who are the main characters
The main characters are Cassie and Hannah. They are sisters and Cassie is 9 years old and Hannah is older, maybe 11 or 13 (she goes to high school). Cassies looks 6-7. Hannah is like the evil sister by doing mean things by accident. Cassie is really thin.

What happened
Here's what happened... Hannah cuts off Cassie's hair by accident. Cassie then finds a gap in her closet which leads to her sister bedroom where she scares Hannah one night. Hannah kept on sneaking into Cassie's room at night because she was scared and they eventually became sister friends.

Why I liked it
What I liked about the book was that it taught me a lesson: always tell the truth, because Hannah didn't tell Cassie it was an accident and Cassie didn't tell Hannah that she was the one who scared her by making scary noises from her closet.

Rainbow magic Amelia the singing fairy by Dasiy meadows

I've been reading rainbow magic so this is my first review about rainbow magic.

What  Amelia the singing fairy is about:

These girls go  to the festival, when Kirsty looks straight ahead then suddenly a statue moves. Kirsty was shocked so Rachel picks up a coin from her purse and put it in a hat lying on the floor. There was a cupcake stand nearby. When Kirsty went to have a look at it there was a whole lot of gleaming cupcakes on one big stand. Rachel spots a ocean cupcake with starfish and seaweed on it. It was more sparkly than the others. Then suddenly Amelia the signing fairy popped out behind it. Rachel popped Amelia in her bag then Kirsty and Rachel walked forwards until they saw a group of goblins singing for money. They had the magic star from Amelia's wand. Rachel had a plan - If she was turned into a goblin she would be able to undo the star from the microphone. When Amelia hears it playing she sprinkles fairy dust over her. When in the blink of an eye Rachel  turns into a goblin and races towards the goblins and sang "Twinkle Twinkle". The goblins said "that's not what we're singing". So all the other goblins kept on singing while Kirsty was trying to undo the star on the microphone. The star then falls into the box where all the money was. After the people were gone the Ring Master said that the contestants for the show "Please go and practice"because the show will be on soon. So Kirsty was the last one, and she nearly got the star out but the other goblins just waited for Rachel. Rachel walked to Amelia and Rachel and said that their plan did not work.

When the Ring Master came up on the stage he said that there was going to be a contest and the goblins were in it. Rachel  came walking  back to Kirsty and  Amelia.Never mind,Kirsty said we'll just have to     
think of something else. The three of them hurried behind the candy floss stand and Amelia sprinkled fairy dust all over the girls. The felt themselves shrinking smaller and smaller. Then they flew to where the auditions were - under the table where the judges were.

There was a famous pop star called Suzi Saffron. She was one of the judges. But when they saw Suzi, they saw she had warts on her legs and recognised green skin. It wasn't Suzi it was a goblin. Suzi the goblin picked some singers from her deck of cards and threw them on the floor. She said "Oh, here's a good one, Thrills and Chills can you please come up on stage". 

Kirsty had an idea. If she had a really, really big voice then she could talk very loudly. Amelia sprinkled rainbow fairy dust all over Kirsty and she said "It's Thrills and Chills everybody! Scream if you want to!!". Every single except for the judges (well only the goblin just) stood up their seats and started shouting. When the judges thought "that's not Suzi Saffron" they shooed her away with the goblins. Then one of the goblins opened the suitcase and Kirsty rushed to get he star but when she was going to come out with all the money jingling - it closed. And Kirsty was trapped with all the money. Amelia sprinkled some fairy dust over Rachel and she became a statue of Jack Frost and handed out a hat and she wanted all the money and a star. Kirsty suddenly flew out, grabbed the star and went to Amelia. Jack Frost shooed the goblins away and Amelia turned Rachel back into her original self.

Kirsty opened Suzi Saffron's cart and she thanked Rachel and Kisrty. The they all went back to their seat and it was all over.

What I liked about Amelia The Singing Fairy

I liked everything about it is was a great story. It's actually a really good lesson for not stealing stuff.

Review Of Billie B Brown - The Night Fright By Sally Rippin

Did you know why she had a "B" in her name? It's because it always stands for something like "buzzing".

What Billie B Brown's The Night Fright is about:

Billie's friend Rebecca, well, her sisters made Billie feel all gown up and Rebecca's sisters invited Billie to a scary movie. But whenever she watches scary movies she has nightmares.

The day after watching the scary movie she saw Rebecca, Ella and Tracey in a playground at school where she told a lie that she didn't find it scary, but then discovered that everyone had a nightmare about the movie and she wasn't the only one.

After they had a little discussion about scary movies Ella said that she "Loves Finding Nemo" and Billie invites everyone around to her house to watch it. But lets them know that they have to wait till her little brother is asleep before the shark appears because it gives him nightmares.

What I liked about The Night Fright:

I liked when they talked about scary movies because Billie gets surprised that everyone had a nightmare about the scary movie. This is a good lesson in not telling lies.

What I didn't like about The Night Fright:

This is a great book to read there's nothing not to like about it.
